To complete the YMCA leg extension test you need access to a leg extension machine.
Sit on the leg extension machine with your knee joints in line with the machine's axis of rotation (the point around which the movement arm revolves), back in full contact with the seat back, hands on the handgrips, and shins against the move- ment pad (see figure 2.4a).
It is possible that you may not be able to perform one of the strength tests because of injury or inaccessibility to a leg extension machine.
